High school TV Broadcast Class selected as finalist at DMAC Festival

On Wednesday, April 9th, members of the Woodland Hills High School TV Broadcast class attended the DMAC Festival at Robert Morris University.

The Digital Media Arts Consortium is an organization that promotes students and schools who create digital media.

Woodland Hills High School was selected as a finalist in the Live Broadcast of AM Announcements category.  They competed with many schools in Western Pennsylvania.

Every day, the members of the class organize the announcements, write announcements, prepare graphics, operate camera and audio equipment, change backgrounds, create and direct overlays.

Although the class did not win an award, the students found this a positive experience, and they received feedback on how to improve their broadcast for next year's competition. Students were able to hear keynote speakers, who are a part of the industry, and participated in a campus scavenger hunt. The awards festival also included public viewing of media of the contestants in every category, exposing the students to various technologies.
